Page Rank Updated

Google First Place IdiotsGoogle's Page Rank has done the rounds and updated everyone's websites. You will notice that I have a 0 out 10 rank for this site, but this was to be expected. If you start bagging Google and showing their warts and all to everyone that comes around, you need to expect a zero from the God of the Internet.

I have one site that has a half a front page and TOS and a privacy page and got a ranking of 4! I also have another site that I installed Wordpress on and added no content, just a straight out of the box Wordpress installation , and it got a rank of 2! I have a hosting company and it has a site with over 30 pages and all original content and CSS and XHTML compliant code and it received a ranking of 0!!

In these few examples, it is easy to see that Google has no idea about what they are doing. My site that has virtually nothing in it, that ranks a 4, will see Google send people there and they will be disappointed. I get about 70 a day come through that site that are referred by Google. People who are searching for something through Google want accurate results and not to be directed to a site that has nothing to do with what they are looking for.

First prize goes to Google for being totally out touch with reality and for thinking they know what they are doing.

Page Rank Popularity Contest

Google has the Ad area stitched up, whether it is flogging them or publishing them.

Google controls the Page Rank system, which is a ranking system for websites. So how does Google rank each site? Well, that's a matter of debate, as like most things Google does, is a secret. You would think that a site would rank high if it has original and fresh material. Google, on the other hand, in it's secret club, primarily ranks a site by it's popularity. They say that if site A is an authoritative site, and ranks high and points to site B, then Google see this as website A is important and it links to site B, therefore site B must be important, too and ranks it accordingly.

Thumbs Down to Google's Page Rank SystemGoogle are soliciting the average Joe's of the Internet and requesting them to become whistle-blowers for them and to report offenders for selling or buying links. This is just madness, by a company who are trying to be the boss of the Internet. Google knows how to recruit spies, they employed Matt Cutts(ex-NSA), didn't they?

My site has original material and is always fresh content. I always try to offer my visitors interesting and topical articles. I believe that offering interesting and original content, that keeps returning visitors back to my website, is my primary mission .

Google has argued that popularity is just one deciding factor in the ranking system. I remember a site that had Google in their URL that was similar to one of Google's websites, which the name eludes me, but this site had a rank of 6 and was a single page site with no more than 100 words on it and that all the content sat outside the <body> tags! The reason the site got a page rank of 6 was because some reporter wrote an article about Google's site and included the URL in the article, but the url was not Google's, but the site that got a page rank of 6! This shows that Google's rhetoric about popularity only being one deciding factor when calculating page rank, is a load of rubbish.

Webmasters sometimes overly devote themselves in trying to chase Google's page rank. But they are just chasing their tails, because Google constantly change the rules of the game.

Adsense makes no sense

GOOGLE ADSENSELESS

Fucked Over by GoogleAdsense, for the uninitiated, is Google's advertisements that people can display on their websites. Adsense pays the publisher x amount when visitors to that site clicks on one of those ads. I say x amount because no one knows what they pay per click. Google's lack of transparency is designed to get you to place ads on your website and then don't tell you how much they are paying you when someone clicks on one of those ads!

Adsense is open to click fraud, where the publisher, or friends or family, repetitively click on the ads to generate their Adsense earnings. Adsense will ban their ass when discovered. However, I believe that many cases who have had their Adsense account terminated wrongfully.

From what I understand, publishers are notified by Google Adsense team that their Adsense account has been terminated for fraud. But the best part is, is that Google or Adsense offer no evidence of the alleged incidents and refuse to enter into any discussions about the matter. Period! And to add salt to injury, Adsense refuses to pay out any outstanding earnings!

So, it is basically, when it comes to Google's Adsense program, that your Adsense account is terminated because we suspect you of click fraud, but provide no evidence, and we are not going to pay out your earnings and when you signed up our agreement allows us to deny you of any rights or recourse! Another case of the big dog(Google) being able to screw anyone they please and no one can do anything about it, because Google has the best lawyers money can buy.

This company is veiled in secrecy, openly employs and recruits spys, takes the 5th on all questions and fail better business practices. Welcome to the Secret Society of Google.

How to avoid being terminated from Adsense, visit Google's Adense.

Google's Gmail

Google's Gmail and its privacy has been debated since its inception, however the other day I found myself on a forum where they were discussing spam. The people there were saying that Gmail is the best for rooting out spam and they all loved Gmail.

Love Gmail or hate it, the one major reason not to use it is because of the privacy issues. Google actually read all of the mail that filters through Gmail, which Google says is so they can gather user preferences to better serve them with ads or search results. Google's motto is, of course, is: Do no evil.

Google have all these long-winded privacy policies, that no one ever reads, or cannot understand if they do try to read them, that are supposed to protect everyone. However, from what I can see is that those policies mainly protect Google. But while Google is watching everyone's personal details, who's watching Google to ensure that they are doing the right thing?
